UITP will publish at the end of July a catalogue of functional specifications for the European Bus of the Future, containing 90 functions characterising the bus.
Following a functional and value analysis, a set of elements were then examined for each of the characteristics identified:

a precise definition of the characteristic
- the underlying motivation of the operator
- the goal of each characteristic
- the minimum performance requirement
- assessment methods
- regulations and standards
- technical recommendations
A multidisciplinary team (designers, engineers, sales reps, etc) then worked for several months to elaborate on the ‘European Bus of the Future’ characteristics.
The result of this value analysis and pooling of the expertise of the different partners is a reference work of 90 jointly developed functional specifications.
