In
the international demonstration project involving SOCIALDATA and
UITP, more than 40 transport companies from all over Europe conducted
marketing projects.
More than 12 000 people took part in the marketing experiments.
The
overall result of the experiments indicates a remarkable potential
for increased
public transport use. On average, the Individualised Marketing
experiment raised the share of public transport by 4 % from 17
to 21 %. Before the marketing action each targeted person made
on average 164 trips with public transport per year, and after
the marketing action this had increased to 196. UITP
